Windows 10 Tips : How to using the Screen Recording tool

Windows 10 having the Screen Recording tool which is available in the Xbox Application. Here we can see how to capture the screen recording by using this tool. We need internet connection and Microsoft user id need for this.


Step 1: Press Windows key and G.

Step 2:The popup will display and it will ask if you would like to open the Game bar with option Yes and No, Select Yes. (If the popup will not display then Open the Xbox App and enable the popup in the xbox settings.

Step 3: The Screen recording options will display in the screen.

Step 4: Click the standard record button to start the recording. Click the same button also to stop the recording.

The recording clip will store in the videos\Captures folder with mp4 format.


You can play either windows player or popular VLC player or any other player

Microsoft includes the new feature, a screen recording utility,  in Windows 10  Xbox app. One of the new features of the Xbox app is the Game bar. Through this game bar we can record footage of our game play. The recording is works for as well as xbox app and regualr apps also.

Here's how to do it…

Locate and run the Xbox app

With the Xbox app running, jump to the app you want to record and press the 'Windows' key with the letter 'G' (Win + G) to open the Game Bar.

System will ask the confirmation to open the game bar.

Once the Game Bar is loaded choose your action, either Screenshot (for a single image capture) or Start Recording (for capturing video).

After recording is started, just hit Win + G again to bring the Game Bar back up and stop the recording.

The recordings and screen capture are stored in the folder This PC\Videos\Captures\.
